Jehlani's name comes from Swahili, meaning "strong" and "mighty." Swahili is one of the 68 languages of Kenya and its most popular native language. English of course is also spoken widely in Kenya, but is not a native tongue! Jehlani's exact species is the reticulated giraffe, home to northeastern Kenya. Sitting down requires a tremendous amount of energy for giraffes like Jehlani, but being as Jehlani is just a baby, getting up and down isn't too bad.
